Valletta FC Wins Best Team at MFCA Awards in Sliema

Valletta FC dominated the 5th edition of the MFCA Awards for the 2025/2026 football season, held at a hotel in Tas-Sliema, taking Best Team of the Year and naming head coach Thane Micallef Best Coach of the Malta Premier. The club had already won the FA Trophy and the Jubilee Cup during the same campaign, making the double award recognition a fitting close to an exceptional season.

The Malta Football Coaches Association distributed a record 26 prizes across the night, the highest total in the event's five-year history. Sports personalities and club representatives attended the ceremony to mark the occasion. Federico Varela won Men's Best Player of the Year, while Yulya Carella received Women's Best Player of the Year in recognition of her performances during the 2025/2026 season.

Valletta FC collected four of the night's honours: Best Team, Best Coach, Men's Best Player and Women's Best Player. The club's trophies on the pitch and its awards on the night together reflected a season in which Valletta FC excelled at every level of Maltese football.
