Sliema Nexawin Beats Sirens 15-11 in BOV Summer League

Sliema Nexawin extended their winning run in the BOV Summer League with a 15-11 victory over Sirens Build Fitness in Match Day 10 at the National Pool Complex. Francesco Di Fulvio, Benji Cachia and Jake Cachia all netted three goals apiece, while Julian Chircop contributed two. Daniel Angyal scored six goals for Sirens but his side lacked support elsewhere.

After dismantling Valletta Peak Insurance Brokers 27-8 in Match Day 9, Sliema controlled this tighter contest on their own terms. The first quarter ended 5-5. Sirens led 7-6 at halftime after winning the second period 2-1.

Sliema turned the decisive third quarter, outscoring Sirens 7-2 to take a commanding lead. A 2-2 fourth quarter followed and Sliema managed the closing stages to finish 15-11. Marsaxlokk MFF Ltd overturned an 11-6 half-time deficit to defeat Ta' Xbiex Amigos 18-15.

The first quarter ended level at 5-5 before Ta' Xbiex dominated the second period 6-1 to open up a five-goal lead at the break. Marsaxlokk responded by winning the third and fourth quarters 6-2 apiece for a 12-4 second-half advantage. Nikola Bogdanovic scored seven goals and Enrico Mallia added six for Marsaxlokk, while Ta' Xbiex's Roko Pelicari finished with eight goals.

Barracudas defeated Otters Nivea 18-10. Marton Doczi scored 12 of Barracudas' goals. Jean Borg led Otters with three.

Barracudas held a five-goal lead at halftime and maintained it through the final two quarters.
