Roderick Briffa, a 44-year-old midfielder, has signed for Msida St Joseph, who compete in Malta's Amateur League 2. The move adds another chapter to a long domestic career that has taken him through Pietà Hotspurs, Birkirkara, Sliema Wanderers, Valletta, Gżira United, Mosta and Victoria.
Briffa's career has crossed several clubs associated with the upper levels of Maltese club football. Valletta and Sliema Wanderers are among the country's most decorated sides historically, while Birkirkara and Gżira United have been fixtures in the Maltese Premier League in recent seasons. Mosta and Pietà Hotspurs represent further stops across his playing years.
At 44, Briffa continues as an active footballer in organised competition. Msida St Joseph's Amateur League 2 side will draw on a midfielder with experience gathered at clubs that have competed at the top of the Maltese game.
