Ryan Tanti, a Labour Party councillor on the Dingli local council, posted a comment on Facebook calling it a pity that Adolf Hitler had not been allowed to finish what he had started โ followed by an expletive acronym. '. Newsbook Malta holds a screenshot of the original wording.
Tanti posted beneath a Lovin Malta item covering a sharp exchange at the United Nations between Israeli ambassador Danny Danon and Maltese diplomat Vanessa Frazier. The confrontation unfolded during the 12th commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, where a UN report containing verified accounts of sexual violence by Israeli troops was put before delegates.
Danon dismissed the report as politically motivated. Frazier, who holds the position of UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, intervened on a point of order to say that personal attacks would not be tolerated. Danon responded by telling her to 'be quiet' and to 'leave the room' if she disliked what he was saying โ an exchange that lasted a few minutes before the meeting moved on.
Tanti was first elected to the Dingli local council in 2019 and returned to the seat in 2024. The article does not include any statement from Tanti, the Labour Party, or the Dingli local council, and no disciplinary process had been announced at the time of publication.
