Sliema Wanderers defeated Birkirkara 2–1 at the Centenary Stadium in the VBET Malta Premier League, securing three points and a second consecutive win. Birkirkara suffered their second league defeat in a row. Birkirkara started brighter.

Junior De Souza tested Sliema with a long-range lob in the eighth minute, an early sign of intent, but the visitors could not build on the chance. Sliema took control as the half progressed. Nikolas Karelis converted a penalty in the 36th minute to put his side ahead at the break, giving Sliema the platform they would not relinquish.

Ion Cojocaru doubled the lead in the 54th minute, turning a narrow advantage into a comfortable cushion. At 2–0, Sliema looked well in command. Birkirkara pulled one back through Franklin Junior in the 83rd minute, but it came too late to threaten the outcome.

Sliema held firm to see out the win. The result was reported by Cristian Muscat for talk.mt, who noted it as Sliema's second successive victory and condemned Birkirkara to a second straight defeat in the league.
