Mantas Makutunovicius gave Sliema the lead, turning well before firing a first-time shot past La Playa de Arena goalkeeper Jonathan Grech. Makutunovicius struck again to put Sliema 2-1 ahead, and a third goal completed the 3-1 scoreline and confirmed the championship. Reaching the final had required Sliema to come through a demanding semi-final the previous day at the same venue in Birżebbuġa. They defeated Ispartans 8-5 in a match described as highly competitive and uncertain until the end.
Malta Beach Soccer Association president Mauro Camilleri Darmanin presented the trophy at the end of the match. Sliema captain Matthew Agius received it.
